Blue Forest

2016
|8min video loop multi projections, nine loudspeakers, color cones, manuscript paper
|9ch audio
A video of individuals who behave in socially unproductive ways was produced. The video proposes a shift in our recognitions commonly associated with objects and behaviors. Then 9 people of varying ages and genders watched the video and they devised a story for it. Each of their stories was recorded, which the participants read aloud. The audio of each participant is exhibited alongside the video; all of the sounds come from loudspeakers installed in the space. Multiple perspectives on the video offer a chance at new and different interpretations.
The artwork itself will reinvent itself as more interpretations continue to emerge.
